Aqulia's Nest Vineyards
Tour of Aquila's Nest Vineyards as part of the CT Wine Trail
Aquila’s Nest Vineyards is an innovative, family-owned winery, tasting room and event venue. Aquila, Latin for “eagle”, is appropriately perched on a hilltop in Newtown, Connecticut and is western Connecticut’s newest gathering place dedicated to inspiring connections and communities. Situated 14 miles northeast of Danbury, the winery is 90 minutes north of New York City by car and easily accessible to travelers.
Aquila's Nest draws its meaning from the Mediterranean culture, family origins and personal interests of the vineyards' owners. Neviana and Ardian both grew up in Albania, a country in the crossroads of Italian, Slavic, Turkish and Greek traditions, often referred to as the Land of the Eagles, embracing the symbol in its flag as well. Aquila's Nest was inspired by ancient mythological tales and our love for astronomy.
Going along the inspiration for Aquila's Nest choice of logo, all of their wines are branded with the following elements:
the image of a constellation
the name of a woman drawn from an ancient Mediterranean myth
the inscription of a Latin phrase
the depiction of the vine variety
